Today’s recipe features our Butter Flavored Coconut Oil. It’s a simple recipe that you might wonder why I’m featuring it. But you’d be surprised in this microwave popcorn society in which we live, how many people don’t know how to pop popcorn on the stove. So here’s a fun and easy way to do that–made with ingredients you can trust.

Homemade Butter Flavored Coconut Oil Popcorn

Popcorn goes hand-in-hand with movies, games, and family time, doesn’t it? Most times when we sit down to watch a movie as a family, my boys ask if we can make some popcorn. We have an air popper but on the stove is my favorite way to make popcorn. And since we use butter flavored coconut oil, there’s no need to melt butter to pour on top and make sure your popcorn is evenly coated.

It’s super simple and FAST. Simply put a few tablespoons-full of coconut oil in a large pan and throw in 2 or 3 kernels of corn. Once those are popped, you’re ready to add in the rest of the kernels. This just insures that the oil is good and ready. A few minutes later, and all you need to do is pour your finished popcorn into a large enough bowl and season with salt.

A few minutes of your time is worth the wait for this delicious and healthful snack. Plus, with only 3 ingredients, it’s something you can eat in confidence–knowing everything you’re eating. Compare that with microwavable or movie theater popcorn which can be loaded with excessive butter or unhealthy and unknown oils.

Golden Barrel Butter Flavored Coconut Oil is colored with beta carotene–the same stuff with which carrots are naturally colored so your popcorn will have that movie theater popcorn color without all the nasty artificial coloring. And since we’re talking coconut oil here, it’ll remain a solid when it’s cooler than 76 degrees, so don’t be alarmed if you open the jar to a liquid oil in this warm summer heat. You can simply store your coconut oil in the pantry alongside your other oils.

Using Golden Barrel Butter Flavored Coconut Oil to make Popcorn

  1. team this up with flavacol! i heat the oil till liquid on low, toss in the corn, then the flavacol…better than a theater nowadays. the flavacol is meant to be added to the oil, so it makes every kernel a uniform saltiness

    1. How much flavacol for 1/3 cup of corn ?

Weird that the actual ingredients aren’t listed and the whole thing reads more like a commercial than a recipe. Inb4 this comment is deleted because it doesn’t fellate the product that I still know nothing about even after reading this whole article.

  5. Jason Hickman says:

Flavacol is 50% artificial coloring…hence this recipe with beta-carotene not fd&c yellow #5 lake. Spit the toxic-hook people…you can do it.
